Frequently Asked Questions
What does Comprehensive Car Insurance cover?
Comprehensive Car Insurance will cover you for accidental loss or damage to your vehicle (including fire and theft), and to other people’s cars and property following an accident. With Toyota Car Insurance, you know you are in safe hands by choosing a policy developed by the people who know your Toyota best.
I have a CTP. Do I need Comprehensive Car Insurance?
Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance only covers you for personal injury to a third party (pedestrians, cyclists and other road users) when your vehicle is involved in an accident. This insurance is compulsory and the way you pay differs per state. CTP does not protect you against damage to your car or any other vehicle or property involved in the accident.
What does third party insurance cover?
Third party car insurance offers cover for damage caused to someone else’s vehicle or property if you’re liable for it. This is different to Compulsory Third Party Insurance.
What’s different about Toyota Car Insurance?
Toyota Car Insurance exists to provide cover for your Toyota. This means you don’t have to worry about the quality of repairs or parts used. While other insurers may only pay for substandard repairs and non-genuine parts, we guarantee your Toyota will remain a Toyota.
What is insurance excess?
An excess is the amount you may have to pay towards the cost of a claim under your policy. The excess amount may differ depending on your policy and the type of claim. Any applicable excess amounts will be stated on your Policy Schedule or in the Product Disclosure Statement. An excess is payable if you are deemed at fault or there isn’t another party that we can claim against.
